In the beginning, of mankind using copper for its multiple purposes, there were recordings in history like Deuteronomy 8:9 . . . and you shall dig copper out of the hills." God is blessing the Israelites with the promised land and with many things found in it, like copper.
Many years before that the Egyptians were using copper to disinfect water, heal wounds, and multiple other meaningful uses.
As far back as recordings go Tubalcain (Hebrew person mentioned in the Bible), Genesis 4:22, is known for being the first blacksmith. Instructor of working with brass and iron. Which would include copper by today's understanding.
He is stated as the "forger of all instruments of bronze and iron". A descendant of Cain. In the King James Bible he is spoken of and in a land knows for metal work. His mother is mentioned in Gen. 2:24 and his name seems to have come from Tubal and his ancestor Cain.
From there the history of copper is long and wide. From helping societies create writing tools that were used to record history, weapons for warfare, utensils and other tools. Copper was and is used in ship manufacturing and in housing. Even in printing needs as time went on.
Then there is the fact of what the properties of copper can do for the human body. Copper has long helped humanity with wound dressing and water purification. Maybe even as a copper nose wand or copper hand sanitizer.
